Besides being known for its renowned port wines, Portugal is packed with hidden gems of fine wines. In fact, there has been a long tradition of wine making and wine makers have started to blend wines across regions for centuries. However, due to the limited supply and domestic policies, wine makers before were unwilling to export their fine wines. Not because of selfishness but the production is not even enough for domestic consumptions. Thanks to the change in export policies, Portuguese wine has started to open the door for fine wine enthusiasts.
